CRY GOD FOR MUSIC & St.GEORGE!

We have very few traditions in this house at Winter Solstice.
Ever since everything & everyone departed, me and the grumpy Pig go through several motions quite reluctantly.

The one tradition that survives is putting George Michael on top of the tree.

We don't have a tree this year, so we've put him in the yucca.

We were celebrating 'Saint George' way before he chose Baby Jesus' birthday as his departure date!

In fact it was before he released his rarely played Christmas classic 'December Song', and even before dickheads started playing 'Whamhalla' or 'Whamageddon' or whatever it's called?

Today Pig helped me scatter a few holly leaves around a statuette of Doubting Thomas Didymus.

We flea-sprayed her bed, and listened to a few of George's seasonal-ish songs.

I like 'Praying For Time' because it's quite cynical about our charity donations at this time of year, and how 'God' is no longer the main focus of the Christian festival.
I also love the aforementioned 'December Song', which is a stark reminder that not everyone can have the Christmas they show on Gavin & Stacey or The Royle Family.

But eventually George's heartfelt dirges led to his more uptempo canon.

And before you knew it, me & Pig were groovin' to 'Fast Love', 'I Want Your Sex', 'Outside', 'Bad Boys', 'I'm Your Man, and 'Club Tropicana'!
I stuck some make-up on, and Pig did her best NYPD crotch-grab!

The midwinter gloom lifted for a brief second, and we even thought about going to the Co-Op.

Thomas Didymus continued to look disdainfully on our half-hour of reckless jollity.

And I'm fairly sure Pig knocked a few holly leaves behind the yucca.

But hey!
It's that time of year when the days get longer, our mood begins to change, and the possibility of some naughty fun really exists.

I would like to salute St.George publicly this year.
Openly.
With lots of love.

Whatever you do this year end, please remember:
"You are flawless. Absolutely flawless. You're amazing".

Seasons Greetings. X
